It is Christmas Break and I am about to drop one of those stupid Blog cliches that everyone hates. . . I feel lame for not writing in a long time!
That being said, I plan in the next week to commit another crime against good blogdom and write myself a list of New Year goals for the whole world to see (. . . but really when most bloggers say that they put things up for the whole world they mean the 2 or 3 people that happen to read their blog)
That being said, I just finished my first semester of college and would like to relate an experience from just before one of my finals:
I have a pair of flair-bottomed Brown Deseret Industry slacks. Most of my family doesn't like them. Kimberly (my sister) tells me every time I wear them that they are woman's pants (I maintain that if they were hanging in the men's section, I am justified in wearing them) and don't look good on me. Regardless of how they look, I like wearing them. They add a bit of pizazz to my life (and they remind me of living in Logan. . . which was a good period of my life, maybe not the most productive, but good).
When I go to my finals, I like to dress well. I really hate the whole "dress for success thing", but truthfully, when I feel like I look good, I feel like I can do well. By day 3 of finals I was ready to wear the brown DI slacks, as they are comfortable and fun to wear.
The professor of my Aural Skills class is a fairly jocund person and had commented once or twice on my brown slacks, so I wasn't overly surprised when just before she administered the test she said to me "Braden, are you wearing your lucky pants?"
I said "Why yes'm I am."
"Well good for you."
"By the way, you should be proud of me for not saying out loud my follow-up joke, as we are in mixed company"
"Thank you for you self-control, Braden!" she replied laughingly.
It is was a good way to start the morning and I ended up making a B in the class, which was actually a pleasant surprise. . . the pants might just be lucky.
